Yesterday while the car was getting the underbody paint job, I went to see the Aligarh fort which was nearby. Didn’t have the pass (we have to get permission to see the fort from inside) so just came back from the bridge above the pond which was all around the fort and filled with water to protect fort from enemies. Today it’s all dried up and there is no water and the bridge is also in bad shape. But Government has now realized the importance of this historical monument and restoration work is in progress. Botany department of AMU is also taking good interest in the fort. While I was seeing all this, I was just wondering how much human labors must have been involved in making such deep pond and bridge with no machinery. Today this bridge and the dried up pond is used by nearby people to do shit. How bad!

I went to mechanic shop for some minor repair and underbody rubber paint and whole day got wasted. They took a lot of time to do and I have no option but to wait and wait and keep on waiting till the work is done. My father bought this chili plant few days back and it had one chili which you are seeing in the photo. This one is more used for making chili pickles in India. Pickle is a kind of food item which is made by stuffing the chili with spices and then keeping in a jar filled with mustard oil for several months. We don’t have any plans for making pickles now and this plant will be used as ornamental plant as it looks good and when there are several plants made from the seeds, there will be lots of chilies which can be then used for pickles etc. There is one more type of chili plant which is round in shape and when they get red, they look just like cherries. I can remember one of our servant thought its cherry and asked me and I told him that its chili so don’t eat them but when I went away for some times and returned, I saw him crying for water! Poor chap didn’t trusted me and thought I am lying to him and don’t want him to enjoy cherries.
