Since many days my 256mb pen drive was saying to me that its enough now, give me a break and buy something bigger. I went to Ali Bhai’s PC shop and asked for the prices and I was shocked to see the huge drops in prices of these flash memories. I purchased a 4 GB Kingston DataTraveler for just Rs.1450 (~ $37). This pen drive is quite stylish and does not have any cap, just the slide button on left pops up the USB connector.

As you know I built a PC few days back, everything was great but three things were causing problem. One was the power supply, cabinet and LG CD writer. Yes that Zebronics cabinet started giving trouble like no sound from chassis speaker (that beep you hear at system boot) and the front headphone jack. At first I thought to repair all these as I liked that cabinet design but because of no time for doing that, I convinced the dealer to change the whole cabinet and power supply as well. Now the cabinet is of Mercury and power supply is Amico 500W. I like this new supply a lot as I felt a lot better performance and lower system temperature by using this passively cooled power supply. Want to peep how my system looks from inside? See here. I had one Samsung cd-rom which had that try sticking problem but I made some changes in its mechanism and its working excellent now, so installed that and taken out that dead LG one. After checking it was found that its motor is dead. There are some empty bays at front so thinking of adding some goodies like LCD temperature display and some more USB and firewire socket etc. |
