My friend Akil stays in the hostel and today when I was getting bored at workshop, I called him there for time pass as his hostel is very near to that workshop. He came and told me that a snake got into his room today and he was happy! I said its quite dangerous matter and you are happy? He said that he and his roommates killed that snake and used it for studying. They were in search for a snake from some time for dissection purpose and today they found it in their room itself. Now the problem is that they can’t find its name from looking at it so anyone of you know something about this snake, please let me know.

Today in the evening my friend Atif called me and he was in tension. The problem was Windows Vista. He had purchased a Dell laptop few months back and it came it Vista pre-installed, since then he was very uncomfortable with this new OS. His main problem was that his electronics related software was not compatible with Vista and overall the whole OS was annoying! He came to my house and started the Xp installation but setup was not detecting HDD, we thought that XP CD is corrupt so managed to get a new copy from somewhere but again same error. Later we found that a wrong setting in BIOS was the reason. I must say when buying a new laptop, one should ask for XP only.

With so many phones in the market, if you decide to buy a phone then you are sure to get confused and it may take time to decide which one to buy. Just like me, my friend Akil was also not able to decide but today at last he bought the phone. He came to me in the morning at 11am (that’s when I wake up lol) and I was just up from bed rubbing my eyes. Anyways I went with him to select a phone and he once again ended up buying a Sony Erriscon phone. The only regret was that when he purchased the phone he noticed that there was no hands-free included with the phone. He lives in hostel so he didn’t purchase any costly phone which is a good decision. Costly phones are more likely to get stolen in hostels. Sony Erriscon K310i is the phone he bought; it has a VGA camera, 16mb memory, Infrared port, GPRS and mp3 player.

My friend Junaid decided to buy a second hand car so we went to center point where many cars on the side of the road are displayed for sale. You can see them in the video. He was interested in Maruti Zen but he didn’t know driving so I went with him for the test drive. Car was ok, had no rust and test drive was satisfactory. The only bad thing I noticed that it had a local battery (though new) which was not even maintenance free. Owner was asking 85000 Rs. But Junaid quoted a maximum of Rs.75000 for this Zen. Seller didn’t agreed but I know he will call in few days and try to negotiate. The guy talking on phone at the end of video is Junaid.

Today was Sunday and I was feeling much better I am now almost recovered from cold and fever. I took my car for a long spin and then went market for purchasing some stuff for it like cover as it gets dirty very soon here. My friend Waseem was also free as his paper ended today so we went market for looking some gadgets and LCD TV which he needs to buy soon for his new house. We looked Sony first and then Hitachi, both were good but Hitachi was better in design. He has seen LG few days back and he said its picture quality was better than both Sony and Hitachi. But the main shop where we planned to go today for our much needed cellphone upgrade shopping was closed.

You won’t believe that we are friends since our very first school days i.e., infant class when we were in Lady Fatima School. Both of us were very much interested in electronics and all computer related stuff and doesn’t matter how many marks we got in other subjects, we were always getting good marks in computer and physics. We were good in craft too and always use to impress our art teacher. One thing annoys me about him that he’s a little “pheku” type of person (hope he is not reading this lol) but not everyone is perfect and friendship is all about understanding, not arguing and blaming. Those were very good days when we use to go school by cycle, we use to race on road and enjoy leaving behind cars and other vehicles. After class seventh, he left the school. He’s now in Jhasi and whenever he gets time, he do comes to my house and we have a endless chat of tech stuff.
