A beautiful sunset
Filed Under (Photography) by Mohd. Hashim Khan on 16-04-2008

sunset
I was returning home yesterday evening and it was time of sunset. I spotted a beautiful scene created by nature. Look in the photo and you will see the sun rays coming out of clouds, how beautiful they look, isn’t it? I immediately stopped my bike, took out my phone and started taking shots. Other people going on the road also stopped seeing whose photo I am taking and they also admired this scene. Some people kept looking for long. Funny part was that people were looking this photo in my phone more than the actual sunset scene which was in front of them; few of them were more delighted about the phone rather than this beautiful sunset.

Cow dung cakes
Filed Under (Photography) by Mohd. Hashim Khan on 12-03-2008

cow dung cakes
Beautiful scenery but if you carefully see, you will find some brown colored stuff on the field. These are cow dung cakes left in the field for drying. These cakes are made from cow dung, clay soil and dried grass. A woman in village makes a mixture of these things and then gives a shape of cake and then spread it for drying. So what’s the use of it? Its used a fuel for making fire in stove and cook food. It is used with wood and it burns good, just like coal. You must be thinking it how can someone use a stuff like this, it must smell really disgusting but believe me if you take a dried cow dung cake, it does not smell. A good fuel as it conserve wood and coal but it causes lot of smoke when burnt which is not good for person cooking food.

Old structures but new use
Filed Under (Photography) by Mohd. Hashim Khan on 28-02-2008

comp dept
If you thinking that I went to any site seeing again then you will be surprised to know that this historical monument is just opposite to my computer science department. I can see this building from the window of my class room and sometimes I think how people of that time designed it, how they measured everything and got technical knowledge to build it with so much accuracy that today’s average house is not even that accurately made like these old buildings. Nawabs built these in their time and must be a home for someone but today these are used as offices or class rooms. These buildings were made using bricks and some kind of cement which was made from lime, boiled rice water and many other unknown things and there are no columns’ used in them.

Seasonal Flowers
Filed Under (At Home, Photography) by Mohd. Hashim Khan on 25-02-2008

flowers
These days it’s the season of seasonal flowers which grow in abundance in February month. These flowers stay for longer and grow in many colors. Red, orange, yellow, blue almost every color you can see in these flowers. Only thing you will notice that there is no fragrance in these flowers. But there are so many of them in many shapes and colors that you don’t mind if these flowers don’t have any fragrance and they look very good in bunches when they grow at once place. We have several of these in our garden and I must say they look too good. I wish these were all weather plants. Honey bees come in plenty if you have these flowers in your garden so beware!

Child labor
Filed Under (Photography, My City) by Mohd. Hashim Khan on 16-02-2008

child selling balls
Child labor continues to be a big problem here in India. At almost every shop there is one child working. There are many tea stalls which depend on poor children’s for sending tea glasses and the collecting it. They also collect money and give to the owner of stall. These children work for very less money and this why they are used at many shops for doing small jobs but this is wrong. Parents of such children are poor and cannot afford to send them schools, though education till class x is free for poor children’s but their parents want them to earn money. This child in the photo is selling colorful balls while his age is to play with balls. Problem is not with rules, rules are made but they are not implemented.

My always shining bike
Filed Under (Fun Stuff, Photography) by Mohd. Hashim Khan on 15-02-2008

yamaha gladiator
This is the photo just few days back of service and bike is quite dirty, no polish nothing but still its shining. I love my bike and take care of it. Though I ride it hard most of the times and do things like wheelie, zero degree but I maintain it too. Its Yamaha Gladiator and I bought it a year back and I find it great to ride, good handling and decent mileage too. I don’t know why not many of these bikes were sold, as it’s a good bike in its category. But this its something good for the owners as people look at this bike more and I feel different from the crowd of Honda’s and Bajaj. Everything is perfect in this bike except few things, the rear tyres could be wider to enhance looks and with alloy wheels. A tachometer would also be appreciated. However these things are for the enthusiast and this bike is a commuter bike. I’ll probably modify it after the warranty is over and make it the way I want it to be.
