As a web designer, I always wonder how the web would be without flash components. Whenever I get a new project, clients always ask for some flash work in their site and it’s not only to jazz up the site but also increase the site functionality and makes it user friendly. Internet speed is not a matter now as many people nowadays use broadband connection and flash components load with a blink of eye. There are many places in website where flash can be used like menus, picture gallery, videos etc. Designing these flash components from scratch is very tough and time consuming job, so if I find a ready made one at good price then I don’t wait and buy it immediately. Once such good place for buying flash components is flashloaded.com where you will find lots of flash components. Some components like menus and gallery etc are a must for every site I can say and there are lots more stuff to explore. There is a full content management system (CMS) available in flash called fCMS and fCMSPro. Both are cool if you want entire site in flash, it also lets you create and edit pages in your website even without leaving your browser window. Overall, flash components are must for every site these days.

Blog is used everywhere, some sites use blog and make it look like a full website; people have found the way to make maximum use of blog scripts. For example this website which talk about backgammon online sites is actually a blog but made to look like a website, though the job was not done properly so anyone of you would easily recognize it as a blog. Clever people who use blog but don’t want people to know get it modified to such an extent that a normal web surfing person will never realize that it’s a blog. A blog layout is very common and it’s quite easy to browse so some website (though not a blog) use bloggish type of navigation like this free backgammon software site but I can’t understand why it’s in pink with heart and flowers, the theme of the site doesn’t match with backgammon game. Some change in header image and color combination thru css can make a big difference. This best online backgammon rooms site has done some work on its theme and added image in the header which make some sense, making the site look better than the above two examples. So what I mean to say that with a little modification of blog template, you can make a fairly good looking website in minutes.
